Congratulations go to Simon Malory who after a nail biting contest managed to take top spot in our ybis photo competition and has won himself a FREE online business designed by the team here at ybis.

Out of 3,149 entries Simon as well as 12 other lucky finalists took centre stage to battle it out in a 1 month intense voting competition in which the general public, close family and friends where invited to choose their winner.

Simon Malory sent us this photo of himself holding the ybis logo, we knew instantly he would be one of our finalists as it's originality and comedic value had us convinced the moment we reviewed his entry.

We don't mind a bit of photoshop, we did accept entries that had been digitally altered and those which had not. There was no specific criteria that we were looking for in our finalists, we just wanted to see the originality that some of our entrants were capable of. We had people of all ages and backgrounds enter and has proven to be one of the most successful campaigns we have ever run here at ybis managing to go quite viral throughout the duration with us receiving entries right up untill 23:59pm on the cut off date.

We held an informal interview with Simon to find out a little bit about him and what he plans on doing with his new online business!

Hi Simon thanks for taking the time to answer some of our questions, first off how did you hear about the ybis competition?

"No problem, I came across the ybis competition online while at home one evening. I've entered competitions before like those on ITV but I usually never hear anything back so was suprised when I actually did hear back from you!"

Well, we really liked your entry Simon! What made you enter our competiton in the first place?

"It was actually my wife who said I should enter. Taking photo's is a hobby of hers so it only took us around 5 minutes to take a quick snap and upload it, that was pretty much it really! I'm pretty shy so I decided to hide my face from the camera I thought it looked quite funny so kept it how it was."

That's great! What was going through your mind when you found out you were in the final?

"Not a lot if i'm honest, I've never really been in a competition final before so had no idea what to expect, I just told all of my close family about it and it eventually word spread around at work and became a bit of a running joke amongst my friends."

What do you do for a living Simon?

"I work for my local council, in agriculture and development. Nothing too tasking but it pays the bills I suppose I get my weekends off to spend with my family and thats all that matters really."

You managed to accumulate 805 votes in total. Who was voting for you?

"It's funny actually, I didn't realise untill around 3 weeks into the voting that you could place a vote every single day so you can understand my suprise when I had to message all my colleagues and family a second time to tell them that this was the case. Thankfully I managed to spur on a last minute push through a friend of mine who has over 2,000 Twitter followers, if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have won!"

Well now that you have won an online business, what is your next step?

"Well the guys at ybis have been really helpful so far! I've spoken to Carl and he has advised me on some niches that might be suitable for me. I absolutely love tennis and follow Wimbledon and the US Masters every year so would love the opportunity to promote sports shoes and tennis equipment. I've spoken to a few of my colleagues aswell who may be keen on splitting the workload and contributing financially in return for equity once the business is in profit."

Thanks for taking the time to speak to us after your win Simon may we take this time to wish you the best of luck with your new business, we hope you find the right niche. We are sure you'll make a success of it.

"No, thank you ybis. I'll be sure to keep you updated."

At this time ybis would like to thank everyone who entered into our competition. It was been a hectic 3 months but well worth while and we hope you have enjoyed yourself voting as much as we have had watching the competition unfold.
